Crimson Gladiolus Bouquet

Before placing your bouquet in a vase, trim each stem at a sharp 45° angle using clean, sharp scissors or shears. This increases the surface area for water absorption and prevents the stems from sitting flat against the bottom of the vase.

Fresh, clean water is the simplest way to extend the life of your flowers. Empty the vase completely, rinse it, and refill with room-temperature water every two days. Cloudy water breeds bacteria that shortens bloom life.

Place your bouquet in a cool spot away from direct sunlight, radiators, air conditioning vents, and ripening fruit. Excess heat and ethylene gas from fruit both speed up wilting.

As individual blooms fade, gently remove them from the arrangement. This keeps the bouquet looking its best and prevents decaying petals from affecting the remaining fresh flowers.
